Good question. But is there an answer? The more I think about it, the more I can't find a valid one. But I'm really tired of reading books and cursing every mistake I find. And I swear seriously and out loud too. Mistakes in books bother me tremendously. It's like buying a cell phone and finding the screen scratched, or a shirt missing a button, or a wobbly desk. But in those cases the product can be replaced or repaired for free. A book full of errors cannot be repaired or replaced, because it would come back with the same errors as before.
The publication of a book should follow the Phone Number List following process: Writing by the author (or translated by a translator) Editing to improve the text Review by the author after editing Rereading by the editor (who rightly doesn't trust) Proofreading Final reading (also by the author) Press One wonders, after all these readings and rereadings, how it is possible that books are published with errors here and there. But what are these errors? This is also a good question. Let's clarify, then. The errors are of various types: Printing errors : as they were once defined, i.e. typing errors, due to carelessness. Misprints : it is a very specific error and consists in the exchange or movement of one or 2 letters of a word.
We can make them fall into printing/typing errors. Spelling errors : write a little , for example, but also “On May 1st” or “a friend”, etc. Grammar errors : the absent subjunctive, intransitive verbs taken as transitive, etc. And then there are also conceptual errors , when we write a date wrong or put a location in a state other than our own. The big publishing houses and errors in books Large publishers have sufficient funds to pay the various professional figures involved in the publication of a book. So also a proofreader. Yet I find errors even in those books.
